Introduction

The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a department in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College, was established in 1993. And it developed into an independent and comprehensive  department in 2016, in which doctors combined Chinese traditional and Western medicine, and developed it into a comprehensive department of medical service, teaching and learning. This department was established to inherit the essence of traditional Chinese medicine and stressed the importance of natural therapy. In 2018, it was awarded the “National General Hospital Traditional Chinese Medicine Work Demonstration Unit” by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is the main unit of the Zhongjing Theory Professional Committee of the Hainan Traditional Chinese Medicine Association. The Beijing Chinese Medicine Inheritance 3+3 Project—Hu Xishu Master Research Office, has set up a research office in our department, Hu Xishu's Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Inheritance of Classical Prescription in Hainan.


There are above thirty doctors in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including 2 doctors with senior titles, 7 with intermediate titles and 10 with master's degrees. We provide 46 open beds in wards. Specialized clinics such as TCM internal medicine, Chinese medicine rehabilitation, Chinese medicine acupuncture and Chinese medicine nursing clinic have been established. We provide featured traditional Chinese medicine service, such as traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, modern Chinese medicine granules, acupuncture, moxibustion, massage, Chinese medicine fumigation, ginger treatment, vinegar treatment, Chinese medicine packaging, acupoint application, auricular pressing beans, healing therapy, meridian guiding treatment, diet therapy, etc. 


The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College is not only in line with domestic and foreign, but also features classic Chinese medicine and modern Chinese medicine. We have the experience of combining Chinese and Western medicine in critical illness. We advocate the modern Chinese medicine rehabilitation and the concept of Chinese medicine treatment, as well as abide by the medical behavior norms. We determined to establish a warm ward with a strong Chinese medicine culture.


Focus on the following diseases:

1. Cerebrovascular disease: Integrate the advantages of general hospitals and undergraduate characteristics, and carry out stroke unit treatment for stroke. Provide traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, western medicine, acupuncture, Chinese medicine packaging, acupoint sticking, auricular point pressing beans, healing therapy, meridian leveling treatment, diet therapy, functional exercise and other comprehensive treatment. Treatment of brain and nervous system diseases such as headache, dizziness, and limb weakness and numbness.

2. Osteoarthritis: highlights the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, and treats neck, shoulder, back and leg pain, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatoid rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases.

3. Geriatric diseases: comprehensive treatment of common diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, chronic lung disease, etc.

4. Digestive diseases: Chinese and Western combined treatment of gastritis, gastric ulcer, colitis, etc.

5. Gynecology, reproductive science: Chinese medicine treatment of irregular menstruation and infertility.

6.  Postoperative treatment of tumors, standard Chinese medicine treatment after chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Promote postoperative rehabilitation, reduce complications of surgery and chemotherapy. Prevent tumor recurrence and metastasis.

Gaoan Wang, Chief Physician of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medical, Administrative offices director ,Director of TCM teaching and research section ,has the following positions: Chairman of the Professional Committee of Zhongjing Theory of Hainan Traditional Chinese Medicine Association, Deputy Director of the Committee of Geriatrics of Hainan Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Association, Vice Chairman of the Sports Therapy Committee of Hainan Rehabilitation Medical Association, and Deputy Director of the Working Committee of Hainan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Chairman, member of the World Classical Chinese Medicine Federation. The doctor is good at: Chinese medicine, Chinese and Western medicine combined with rehabilitation methods for stroke, headache, dizziness, cough, palpitation, chest pain, abdominal pain, diarrhea, insomnia, neurasthenia, sexual dysfunction, intractable mouth ulcers, facial acne, irregular menstruation, Neck and shoulder pain, bone and joint diseases.
