In the past year, the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee sounded the clarion call of the times to further comprehensively deepen reforms and open up broad prospects for Chinese modernization. All members of SHHMU practiced the benevolence of doctors, safeguarded health with their hard work, and reaped honors with their courageous progress.

In this year, we bravely shouldered our mission and demonstrated our patriotism and sense of family and country. The hospital closely followed the needs of the national situation, actively participated in the overseas medical assistance cause, and dispatched medical team members to Burkina Faso. Adhering to the spirit of red medicine, we conveyed benevolence and medical skills, becoming witnesses and builders of the profound friendship between the Chinese and African peoples. We also gave full play to our technological advantages to conduct counterpart assistance to county-level hospitals, continuously enhancing the "hematopoietic" function of the recipient hospitals. We established a telemedicine collaboration network to strengthen business guidance and coordination such as hierarchical diagnosis and treatment, the sinking of expert resources, and remote technical guidance, giving full play to the leading and radiating role and promoting the expansion and balanced distribution of high-quality medical resources.

In this year, we were pragmatic and steadfast, living up to the trust of life. The hospital adhered to the principles of putting people first and life first, centered around patients, continuously enhanced the ability to diagnose and treat difficult and severe diseases, improved medical quality and safety, optimized medical service models and efficiency, improved the patient experience, and enhanced patient satisfaction. The "one-click activation" mechanism snatched the hope of life from the hands of death, and the daytime chemotherapy center enabled patients to receive affordable medical treatment with less travel. Specialized clinics, comfortable medical care, and hysteroscopy centers have alleviated the pain and ignited the hope of more patients.

In this year, we were diligent in learning and good at thinking, and persevered in innovation while adhering to the right path. With innovation as the engine and sweat watering the rich fruits of "great medical sincerity and expertise", the hospital, supported by talents and guided by scientific research, climbed to new heights of high-quality development. The hospital adhered to the Party's management of talents and the simultaneous promotion of talent cultivation and introduction, with 17 new high-level talents added, achieving new breakthroughs in talent echelon construction. Academician Ma Jun's workstation was established in the hospital, and the xenotransplantation team achieved results comparable to those in the United States. The successful implementation of the country's first immediate breast reconstruction surgery using the inferior gluteal artery perforator flap and the completion of Hainan's first L2 vertebral burst fracture surgery empowered by AI fusion navigation in Hainan, the application of a series of new medical technologies has created one amazing new miracle of life after another.

In this year, we actively explored and launched international medical services. Benchmarking against international first-class standards, we built an internationally recognized standardized medical service process and management system, making the international medical service system truly effective. As the first international hospital outside the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, SHHMU is about to apply for and pass the certification. Since the operation of the International Medical Center built with the "4H" (Hospital, Hotel, Home, Happiness) concept, it has overturned people's perception of modern hospitals. The International Medical Center has won high praise from both domestic and foreign friends with its unique environment and high-end intelligent ward care based on the Internet of Things and 5G technology.

In this year, we provided sincere care and witnessed countless touching scenes. Hainan suffered the strongest typhoon disaster in history. In the face of the disaster, the people of SHHMU did not retreat but united more closely. Medical staff held the window that was being blown by the wind tightly with their hands; they and the families of patients pushed against the ward door with their shoulders; before the typhoon passed, they overcame all difficulties to perform emergency surgeries to save the limbs of patients and made every effort to rescue the power grid repair workers. The hospital and China Southern Power Grid worked together, and the thank-you letter from China Southern Power Grid was full of praise... The people of SHHMU built a solid defense line for patients with love and courage.

Looking at the dawn of 2025, we will keep an appointment with spring together with the times. The people of SHHMU will use struggle as the pen, sweat as the ink, and the post as the scroll to make a thick and colorful stroke on the scroll of safeguarding health.
