On the morning of March 4th, Mr. Shu Guo, Hainan's first patient with a double lung transplantation, came to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University for a regular review after 3 months. According to inspection, Mr. Guo's lungs are now very clear in texture and his lung function is recovering well.

 

Mr. Guo is a native of Maotai Town, Guizhou Province. He was diagnosed with COPD in 2016. Since 2017, Mr. Guo's condition has deteriorated, he has gradually lost his ability to work, and can not take care of himself. On December 20, 2019, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University adopted sequential double lung transplantation under off-pump. On the second day, Mr. Guo removed the tracheal intubation and was discharged on the eighteenth day.

"Now, I can walk for one or two kilometers a day, and at the same time I can carry out rehabilitation training at home, I can also bring my little grandson."Mr. Guo said that he was very grateful to the medical staff of the Second Medical College.
