On January 25, 2024, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University (SHHMU) held the first regular meeting of 2024, attended by more than 100 hospital leadership members and middle-level cadres. At the beginning of the meeting, the participants visited the SHHMU History Museum under the guidance of Dr. Yi Wang, the secretary of the Party Committee, felt the historical changes of the hospital over the past 70 years, and reviewed the struggle of SHHMUers.

Dr. Yi Wang said that the first regular meeting of the hospital after the adjustment of the hospital leadership in 2018 was held in the SHHMU History Museum, aiming to find the driving force of the hospital's struggle by reviewing the development process of this hospital. After five years of overall development, SHHMU has gradually realized the pattern of “One Department, Two Institutes, Four Hospitals and Four Centers”, and is moving on the road to high-quality development journey with incomparable and new creativity. The first regular meeting of the hospital in 2024 started from the SHHMU History Museum to explore the historical mark and find the truth. Only when we know where we come from, the future steps will be more solid. Only when we know where we are will our future work more vigorously and our expectations for the future become reality.

Dr. Yi Wang stressed that the hospital will keep up with the development pace of Hainan Medical University, take the reform as the general tone of the work in 2024, form the cadre appointment mechanism of "prepared for both promotion and demotion", will take the name of the university as its duty to comprehensively improve the teaching quality; promote the international hospital certification, spare no effort to promote the medical team and operation team, and comprehensively improve the medical quality, medical safety and management level of the hospital. The year 2024 is an important year for the high-quality development of SHHMU. SHHMU needs to speed up its development and improve its spirit. All the SHHMUers should meet new challenges and start a new journey with a more energetic spirit and striving attitude.
