Overview

Orthopaedics ward 1 is one of the key clinical specialties in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College. The current director, Zhao Hai, with rich experience in clinical orthopedic work for over 20 years, has studied in the Chinese PLA General Hospital, the Peking University Third Hospital, and ever visited Delcony Hospital in Germany, and Tzu Chi Hospital in Taiwan. Department I of Orthopaedics has strong technical force, including 6 surgeons with senior titles, 5 surgeons with intermediate titles, 1 surgeons with junior title and 4 surgeons with master degrees. All orthopaedic surgeons in the department have studying or training experiences in the famous hospitals in home and abroad. Department I of Orthopaedics offers 65 beds. Focusing on clinical diagnosis and treatment, Department I of Orthopaedics integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and prevention. It has become the referral unit of orthopaedic diseases in the whole province, especially in the hospitals of agricultural reclamation system at all levels and undertakes the consultation work of various orthopaedic difficult diseases for patients from all over the province. Service

1. Spinal Surgery: MIS-TLIF technology under channel assistance, percutaneous pedicle screw internal fixation technology, percutaneous puncture balloon dilatation vertebral plasty for treatment of osteoporosis compression fracture and metastatic spinal cancer, minimally invasive spine surgery; the cervical, thoracic and lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion, cervical stenosis, spondylolisthesis and spinal deformity, and spinal cord injury, spinal fracture dislocation, spinal tuberculosis and spinal tumors, minimally invasive spine surgery, re-surgery of spine due to poor curative effect, hip and knee joint replacement and revision surgery, etc..

2. Artificial Joint Surgery: hip, knee, shoulder and elbow joint replacement and revision surgery, etc..

3. Orthopedic Treatment: internal fixation and external fixation of complex fractures and dislocation of the limbs and pelvis; bone transportation technology is used to treat infection and complex bone defect after internal fixation of various long bone fractures of limbs, etc..

4. Sports medicine: reconstruction and repair of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament fractures, meniscus resection and repair surgery, arthroscopic and microfracture technology for articular cartilage injuries, arthroscopic reconstruction of ligament insertion for ankle instability, repair of labrum injuries under shoulder arthroscopy, etc..

5. Others: limb preservation technology for limb bone tumors; surgical treatment of ischemic necrosis of femoral head and congenital dislocation of hip joint in children.

Specialty: specializing in diagnosis and surgical treatment of spine, joint surgery, pelvic fractures limbs and all kinds of related diseases. He is highly versed in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion, cervical stenosis, spondylolisthesis and spinal deformity, minimally invasive spinal surgery for tuberculosis and tumors as well as hip and knee joint replacement and revision surgery. Bone transport technology is firstly adopted to treat all kinds of limb with long bone, complex bone defects in Hainan province. He has published 6 articles in core periodicals.
