The department is divided into five sub-specialties: plastic surgery, laser cosmetic surgery, anti-aging micro-plastic injection, hair transplantation and skin management.

The department has a team of well trained and highly skilled plastic experts and establishes academic exchanges with the first-class plastic surgery departments of United States, South Korea and other countries. The team also specially invited Dr. Chen Yuzhe, a specialist in chest plastic surgery, and Dr. Qiu Kanmin, an expert in rhinoplasty and repair in South Korea.

The newly joined Dr. Xie Hongju of the Department of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University, chief surgeon, graduate adviser, Hainan Province introduced high-level talents, is one of the earliest experts in plastic surgery in the province and has focus on this major for 30 years.

He is now currently a national member of the Chinese Society of Integrated Medicine and Plastic Surgery of the Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine; Member of the Medical Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctors Association, deputy director of the South China Medical Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Committee of the Chinese Society of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine. The first batch of domestic certified surgeons in cosmetic surgery, and certified by the Ministry of Justice in China as a forensic physician.

The team also specially invited Dr. Chen Yuzhe, a specialist in chest plastic surgery, and Dr. Qiu Kanmin, an expert in nasal synthesis and repair in Korea.
