Geriatric department is a comprehensive medical ward with 58 beds. There are 11 doctors and 13 nurses, including 6 middle and senior doctors,has  experience in the treatment of geriatric diseases. At the same time,  it has carried out specialized and characteristic work such as geriatric comprehensive assessment, geriatric comorbidity management and geriatric rational drug use.

The ward receives and treats three kinds of patients: First, acute or subacute period old age patient. Second, the elderly patients suffering from a variety of diseases, not systematic treatment or irregular treatment. Third, patients with senile infirmity are admitted and treated mainly for symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, emaciation and poor appetite.Comprehensive examinations and geriatric characteristic assessment are conducted to find the causes and improve the quality of life.The specific diseases are common diseases in geriatric medicine, covering respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine and nervous system.

The department adopts the mode of "general practice, whole-process, health management and multidisciplinary cooperation", attaches great importance to whole-person management, makes joint decisions between doctors and patients, and at the same time carries out people-oriented holistic nursing,attaches great importance to health education, visits discharged patients and so on, to help them "successfully aging".   

The characteristics of the elderly, such as the coexistence of multiple diseases, are not suitable for the current model of specialist single disease. Geriatrics department takes the patients as a whole for comprehensive evaluation and intervention, to maintain and restore the functional state of the elderly patients to the maximum extent.To improve the quality of life of elderly patients as always the goal of the pursuit.
