Plastic Surgery Department

Overview

The Department of Plastic Surgery was established in 2019. Though relatively young, relying on the strong technical strength of its affiliated Grade III Level A hospital, it has developed into one of the largest and most technically sophisticated formal plastic and aesthetic institutions among public hospitals in Hainan Province. The department adheres to the plastic and aesthetic concept of "Science, Nature, and Safety". Currently, it has introduced the world's most advanced medical aesthetic equipment and has gradually become a professional and authoritative institution in this field. The department has gathered a group of plastic and aesthetic experts with high professional quality and exquisite skills. It has established academic exchanges with first-class international plastic surgery specialties, and strives to align its plastic and aesthetic concepts and clinical treatment standards with the world's advanced levels. The academic leader of the discipline is Professor Xie Hongju, a chief physician and master's supervisor. He is a high-level and top-tier talent introduced by Hainan Province, a "Nanhai Doctor", and one of the earliest experts engaged in plastic and aesthetic surgery in the province, with a focus on this specialty for 30 years. Currently, he serves as a national committee member of the Medical Cosmetology and Plastic Surgery Committee of the Chinese Society of Integrative Medicine, a committee member of the Medical Cosmetology and Plastic Surgery Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and a deputy director of the South China Medical Cosmetology and Plastic Surgery Committee of the Chinese Society of Integrative Medicine. He is also one of the first domestically certified and registered chief physicians in aesthetic surgery, and a certified and registered plastic and aesthetic appraiser by the Ministry of Justice of China. At present, the department has developed the following subspecialties: Aesthetic Surgery: Including ocular plastic surgery, nasal plastic surgery, lip and mouth plastic surgery, breast plastic surgery, body contouring surgery, and private plastic surgery. Laser Aesthetics: Including treatment of skin pigmented diseases, cutaneous vascular diseases, acne scars, and photorejuvenation. Micro-plastic Anti-aging: Including facial contour aesthetics and facial wrinkle removal. Hair Transplantation: FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) for repairing scarring alopecia, high hairline, and sparse eyebrows or beards. Skin Management: Including repair of sensitive skin and treatment of acne. Cell Regeneration and Repair: Including PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy, cell vesicle therapy, and fractional laser for remodeling skin collagen regeneration. In recent years, the department has hosted 2 provincial and municipal-level research projects, published more than 20 papers, including over 7 SCI papers. It emphasizes equal focus on clinical practice and scientific research, and continues to make progress and develop. Currently, the department is a master's degree training site for plastic surgery at Hainan Medical University, and has trained a total of 6 postgraduates so far. With "Science, Nature, and Safety" as its core concept, the department is committed to building a regional plastic and aesthetic center.
