Nuclear Medicine
Overview
Founded in 1991, the department of Nuclear Medicine is one of the earliest nuclear medicine disciplines in our province. It is a comprehensive department that integrates ECT imaging, organ function measurement and radionuclide therapy. The department currently has 7 staff members, including 4 physicians (1 deputy chief physician, 3 resident doctors, including 1 master's degree), 3 nurses (2 supervisors and 1 nurse) . Our department is the first department to purchase imaging equipment ECT for imaging work in Hainan Province. At present, the department owns the most advanced ECT equipment Siemens SPECT Symbia Evo Excel, thyroid function tester, strontium-90 applicator and other equipment. Detail>>

Service

The ECT Imaging Project

1. Whole body bone scan: early detection of tumor bone metastases can be 3 months earlierthan X-ray examination.

2.Myocardial perfusion imaging: used for the diagnosis of myocardial ischemia in coronary heart disease.

3.Renal chart, renal function imaging: to judge renal function, especially kidney function.

4.Thyroid imaging: diagnosis of hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis, thyroid nodular nature, ectopic thyroid diagnosis.

5.Cerebral blood perfusion imaging: auxiliary diagnosis of cerebral ischemia, cerebral infarction, localization of epilepsy focus, alzheimer's disease, etc.

6. Digestive system imaging: neonatal jaundice differentiation, intestinal bleeding localization and other diagnosis.

7.Salivary gland imaging: judgment of salivary gland secretion function and diagnosis of sjogren's syndrome.

8. Gastric emptying test: evaluation of the function of gastric emptying.

The Radionuclide Treatment Project

1. Iodine-131 treatment of hyperthyroidism: it has the characteristics of safe economy, good curative effect, low recurrence rate and less complications, and the cure rate of one dose can reach 80%.

2. Iodine-131 treatment of thyroid cancer: it can significantly reduce the recurrence rate of postoperative thyroid cancer patients, so that the long-term survival rate increased from 70% to 90%.

3. 89Sr (strontium) treatment for bone metastatic tumor: 89Sr is the bone seeking radiopharmaceutical , which has a good affinity with bone metastatic tumor and can inhibit the destruction of bone by cancer cells, control the expansion of cancer cells and reduce the pain of patients with bone metastatic tumors with an effective rate of 80%.

4. Yunke treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, etc.: Yunke is a stable isotope-labeled compound that can regulate the immune function of the body and achieve the purpose of treating rheumatoid arthritis. Its action characteristics are effective and low toxicity. It is an ideal drug for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

6.125I (iodine) particle implantation for the treatment of tumors: it is mainly used for tumor treatment, especially for tumor treatment that is ineffective in radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It has the advantages of high local effective rate and low systemic side effects.

Graduated from Suzhou University (formerly Suzhou Medical College) in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine. After graduation ,he has been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of clinical nuclear medicine at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College. He is especially good at radionuclide therapy. Over the years, he has accumulated rich clinical experience in the treatment of hyperthyroidism (Graves' disease) or thyroid cancer by radionuclide iodine-131, 89Sr (strontium) treatment for bone metastatic tumor.
