The Department of Anesthesiology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University was officially separated into a clinical secondary discipline from the Department of Foreign Surgery in 1973. After 43 years of unremitting efforts, the anesthesiology discipline has grown weaker and stronger, and now has entered the anesthesia of Hainan Province. The advanced discipline of the discipline has been rated as an excellent unit of anesthetic quality in Hainan Province for three consecutive years.

The department has 31 anesthesiologists, 8 doctoral students, 5 master's degree students, 25 undergraduate degrees, including 3 chief physicians, 7 deputy chief physicians, 11 attending physicians, 12 resident physicians, and 6 anesthesia nurses.  There are 3 graduate students in the post, and the talent team and structure are reasonable.  He is currently serving as the deputy director of the Anesthesia Deputy Chairman of Hainan Province and the chairman of the Pain Professional Committee and 2 members of the Standing Committee, and 1 deputy director of the Hainan Province Anesthesia Quality Control Center.

The Department of Anesthesiology has formed clinical anesthesia, anesthesia recovery room, pain diagnosis and treatment, comfortable medical treatment and intensive care.  There are 25 laminar flow operation rooms in our hospital, including 5 grades. The operation room is equipped with high-grade Dräger, Omega, Mindray anesthesia and various vital signs monitoring equipment. Education and Research

The department pays special attention to teaching and personnel training. Three people have visited the anesthesiology department of famous hospitals in the United States, France and other countries. All the senior and middle-level doctors went to the domestic first-class comprehensive and specialized hospitals for further study, which laid a solid foundation for the development of the anesthesiology department. At the same time, the anesthesiology department has long been responsible for the internship education and theoretical teaching of medical students in medical colleges such as Hainan Medical University and Guangxi Medical University, and constantly improves its theoretical level and practical ability in teaching.  As a standardized training base for residents in the country, there are 13 students in the anesthesia specialist base, and the training pass rate is 100%.

The Department of Anesthesiology currently has 2 provincial-level natural fund projects and 5 health-level scientific research projects.  In recent years, it has published dozens of articles and SCI papers in professional core journals such as Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology and Clinical Anesthesiology.
