Special projects:

I. Low temperature plasma surgery for otorhinolaryngology diseases:

In 2007, the department took the lead in developing low-temperature plasma surgery for otorhinolaryngology diseases in the province. The ArthroCare low-temperature plasma surgery system has more advantages than traditional surgery: minimally invasive, accurate, efficient, less pain, less bleeding and faster recovery. Main applications: tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy; minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant tumors of the nose, pharynx and larynx; multiplanar volume reduction surgery for obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome; etc., reaching the advanced level in China.

2. Specialized diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (snoring):

The department is a professional department which carries out snoring treatment earlier in the province. It has professional diagnostic and therapeutic equipment such as polysomnography, electronic fibre nasopharyngoscope, snoring blocker, non-invasive positive pressure ventilator, low-temperature plasma therapeutic apparatus, etc. It can accurately diagnose the location and severity of upper airway obstruction of snoring patients, thus formulating corresponding treatment plans.

Therapeutic measures:

1. Equipped with oral appliance (snoring blocker).

2. Continuous positive airway pressure through nose.

3.Surgical treatment: nasal surgery; adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy; palatopharyngoplasty; hyoid suspension; etc. Cryogenic plasma radiofrequency surgery: This technique can deal with the obstruction of upper respiratory tract. It has the characteristics of minimally invasive, safe, less pain and quick recovery. It is an advanced and effective surgical method to treat snoring at present.
