Overview

The Department of Ultrasound Medicine was established in May 1992. It is one of the earliest disciplines engaged in ultrasound diagnosis and treatment in Hainan Province. After years of unremitting efforts and hard working, it has developed into an advanced modern discipline of medical science and technology in Hainan Province, which integrates medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. There are 55 medical staff in the Department of Ultrasound Medicine, including 2 chief physicians, 7 deputy chief physicians, 13 attending physicians, besides, 8 members have obtained their master's degree. On the equipment, the Department of Ultrasound Medicine has configured more than 30 high-end color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic instruments with advanced technology. The main brands are as follows: GE Vivid E9, Voluson E10, E8 (2 units), LG-7, SIEMENS S3000, SIEMENS SC2000 (2 units), SIEMENS S2000 (2 units), HI VISION, ACUSON Antares, ASCENDUS, Avius, PHILIPS IU22, EPIQ7, EPIQ7C, etc., and equipped with advanced medical imaging workstations.

The Department of Ultrasound Medicine is the personnel agency unit of president of the Ultrasound Physician Branch of the Hainan Provincial Medical Doctor Association, the deputy director of the Ultrasonic Professional Committee of the Hainan Provincial Medical Association and the vice president of the Hainan Provincial Association of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering. It is the first batch of national standardized training bases for resident doctors.At the same time, as the affiliated hospital directly affiliated to Hainan Medical University, it undertakes the task of cultivating postgraduate students of ultrasonic medicine, and the undergraduate teaching, trainee and internship of ultrasonic diagnostics. Moreover, it is one of the main training bases for ultrasound doctors in Hainan Province. Up to now, it has accepted several doctors from all levels of hospitals and accumulated wealthy experiences of teaching and management. It has cultivated and transported a large number of high-quality ultrasound imaging professionals for various regions in Hainan, which has been widely praised by employers and refresher doctors.Besides, it regularly organizes national and provincial continuing education programs for making contributions to the cultivation of professionals in ultrasonic medicine.The department has always attached great importance to the education of medical humanities and medical ethics, and has continuously improved the medical level and service quality with the cultural goal of "harmonious development and strive for perfection".

The clinical work mainly divides into two parts: ultrasound diagnosis and ultrasound interventional therapy. The professional group is divided as Abdominal, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Echocardiography, Vascular, Superficial and Interventional ultrasound.The average daily medical treatment volume of the General Hospital has reached more than 900 person-times, and the emergency department is open 24 hours a day, which greatly facilitates patients.

Scope of Diagnosis and Treatment

The Department of Ultrasound Medicine has a comprehensive set of examinations and complete inspection items. The scope of examination includes abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, heart, peripheral blood vessels, superficial organs, interventional ultrasound, musculoskeletal system, pediatrics, organ transplantation, and neonatal brain and so on. In addition, a number of new technologies such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, elastography, ultrasound-guided interventional therapy, intraoperative ultrasound, transesophageal ultrasound, and three-dimensional、four-dimensional ultrasound have been developed to achieve clinical coverage in every aspect without blind spots and improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment. For now, it can fully meet the needs of modern clinical diagnosis and treatment, and serve the majority of patients.The department pays close attention to the service and quality links, and constantly improves the medical level according to the idea of "There is expertise involved in every profession" .
