Patients in the department  were treated with acute and severe illnesses, especially acute severe pancreatitis and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. The success rate was 98%, which was the same level in China. In July 2009, it was the first in China to carry out stem cell transplantation for liver cirrhosis, endoscopic gastrointestinal mucosal polypectomy, esophagogastric variceal ligation/sclerosing agent injection, retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and common bile duct papillary incision. Advanced treatment techniques such as stone removal (EST), gastrointestinal stenting, gastrointestinal submucosal dissection (ESD), and gastrostomy.

Education and Reserach

The Department  also undertakes the internship teaching work of undergraduate students in the medical department of Hainan Medical College and the training of doctors in the secondary hospital of Hainan Province. At present, the advantage and characteristic technology in China is systemic treatment of cirrhosis complicated with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage, autologous stem cell transplantation for liver cirrhosis, treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection-related gastric mucosal diseases, and endoscopic minimally invasive surgery. In the past five years, he published 7 papers. In 1996, the research project “The Pathogenesis of Early Gastric Cancer” was awarded the Researcher Award by the Japanese Society of Digestive Diseases, and the 1999 research project “Relationship between Helicobacter pylori and gastric mucosal lesions” was awarded the American Society for Digestive Diseases. The Researcher Award (DDW) and 2017 were invited to exchange research results at the European Digestive Annual Meeting. He has won two provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards and presided over 9 national and provincial scientific research projects.
