Clinical Laboratory

Overview

The department was found in 1952. The founder was Liang Shushan. The past directors of the laboratory included Liang Shushan , Zhu Zhaoneng, Zhang Guizhen, Zhu Zhongyuan .The present director is Pei Hua. Through ongoing efforts, the Clinical Laboratory gets rapid development. At present, it becomes a comprehensive medical laboratory which well integrated with clinic, teaching and scientific research .It consists of the Clinical Laboratory of the General Hospital, the Donghu Branch Hospital and the Wushi Branch Hospital. There are seven professional groups including clinical laboratory, biochemical, immunology , microbiological, molecular diagnosis, medical genetic test and tuberculosis test (Hainan tuberculosis P2 laboratory). The clinical laboratory ,with complete and effective quality management system , covers an area of more than 3,000 square meters, and the value of various testing instruments and equipment is up to nearly 20 million yuan. Currently, there are 46 laboratory technicians of different kinds in the laboratory, including one outstanding expert making remarkable contribution in Hainan Province, one expert of the third-layer talents of the Hainan “515 Talent Project”, two experts with doctoral degree, two senior technicians, one associate professor, 5 deputy senior technicians, 19 supervising technicians and 19 junior technicians. After nearly 70 years of development, the Clinical Laboratory has cultivated a clinical laboratory and treatment team with rich experience and accomplished skills which not only provides timely and accurate laboratory diagnosis for common clinical diseases and frequently-occurring diseases, but also is committed to the diagnosis research of difficult and rare diseases. Service

At present, the Clinical Laboratory carries out more than 430 types of inspection projects. Apart from the basic inspection projects, the laboratory continuously introduces different forefront inspection techniques and projects to meet the diagnosis needs of the clinical technicians and treatment needs of the patients. And it has several superior specialty technologies, such as tissue matching, isolated identification of rare bacteria, identification of mycobacterial species, and detection of drug resistance genes in tubercle bacillus. The detection items of inhalation and food allergen-specific IgE antibodies and HPV typing tests in the laboratory is the most complete in Hainan province. The emergency laboratory of the Clinical Laboratory in the General Hospital is adjacent to the emergency department, creating the close cooperation between the laboratory and the emergency department.

The office of the Society for Microbiology of Hainan Province locates in the laborary. Therefore, it is also responsible for the biosafety training in the province, holding numbers of training courses for biosafety, providing training for up to more than 1000 people. The Clinical Microbiology Testing of the laboratory is the key medical specialist underpinned by the Health Department of Hainan Province, and the base for physicians’ standardized training of the laboratory is a national-level one. And the staffs have taken charge of one project of Natural Science Foundation project, one major science and technology plan in Hainan province, and five projects at hospital level, also responsible for teaching undergraduates and junior college students during their internship. Furthermore, the laboratory has undertaken the theoretical and experimental teaching tasks for the major of medical laboratory at the Hainan Medical University, courses covering the courses of Clinical Immunology Test, Laboratory Management, Clinical Laboratory Instruments and technology, and Clinical Laboratory Instruments and Applications.

Hua Pei

Director

Outpatient Day:

associate professor, and director of the teaching and researching office of the Clinical Immunology Laboratory. He is also the deputy secretary-general of the Immunology Society of Hainan Province, the executive director, the member of the Society for Biochemistry of Hainan Province, and the member of Committee of Tropical Diseases and Parasites. He is among the third-level talents of the “515 Talents” project in Hainan Province, and one of the first training targets for the Hainan Nanhai Prominent Youth Talent Project. He focuses on microbial infection and immunization, in charge of 2 projects of Natural Science Foundation of China and 2 projects of Natural Science Foundation of Hainan Province. As the first author and corresponding author, he has published more than ten scientific and 2 has been indexed by SCI, making an academic report once at an international academic conferences and participating in the edition of textbooks and works including "Medical Immunology" published by the Higher Education Press, "Pathogenic Biology and Immunology" published by China Medical Science and Technology Press.

Chong Lin

Outpatient Day:

majoring in medical laboratory, undergraduate ,master supervisor, senior technician, deputy director of the Clinical Laboratory, teaching director of the standardized training base of the Clinical Laboratory of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University, teacher of higher education institutions, and the member of the Communist Party of China. He is also the member of the Tuberculosis Clinical Laboratory Specialized Committee of the Chinese Medical Association Tuberculosis Branch, the deputy leader of the First Microbiology Society Clinical Microbiology Committee Burkholderia pseudomallei study group, committee of the Medical Association of Hainan Province Laboratory Medicine Branch, committee member of Hainan Physician Association Laboratory Technician Branch, and proof reader of China Tropical Medicine. He took charge of two bureau-level projects, participated in five key research projects in Hainan Province, hosted one Natural Science Foundation of China project, published over 50 medical papers, including 11 on Chinese core journals, 36 on China Science and Technology Papers Statistical Source Journal, and 3 on national journals. Since he worked in 1992, he has gone to many microbiology laboratories and tuberculosis laboratories of general hospitals for visit and exchanging experience , including Hunan Xiangya Hospital, Guangzhou First Affiliated Hospital, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Wuhan Tongji Hospital, Beijing Hospital, People's Hospital of Gansu Province, Beijing 301 Hospital, Beijing 309 Hospital, Union Hospital and Capital Chest Hospital. He is good at doing research such a drug resistance of common pathogenic microorganisms; isolated identification of rare bacteria and difficult bacteria and detection of drug resistance; research on drug resistance genes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis; detection of environmental hygiene; construction and management of clinical laboratory.

Yingying Wang

Outpatient Day:

the deputy senior technician, leader of clinical blood fluid testing laboratory, member of the Laboratory Medicine of Hainan Provincial Medical Association and Hematology Committee. She is good at engaging in the blood morphological examination of bone marrow cells.

Liying Lin

Outpatient Day:

Undergranduate, deputy senior technician, mainly engaged in medical genetics and clinical testing.

Yingxian Su

Outpatient Day:

Majoring in medical laboratory (five-year program), deputy senior technician. She has been serving in the Clinical Laboratory of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University from August 2005 to present, engaged in microbial testing for 12 years. And she has published four papers as the first author in the past five years, including one paper on the Chinese core journal and three on the China Science and Technology Papers Statistical Source Journal.

Xuehong Li

Outpatient Day:

Bachelor of Medicine, deputy senior technician, mainly engaged in chemiluminescence immunology tests. He is the member of the Society for Microbiology of Hainan Province, and the First Professional Committee of Cancer Markers and Molecular Medicine of Hainan Anti-Cancer Association, published three medical papers as the first author.

Zi Lu

Outpatient Day:

Master of Medicine, practicing physician, deputy senior technician, is mainly engaged in bone marrow cell morphology testing and published four medical papers as the first author.
